E. Kimberly Dunbar is the founder of the Behavioral Intervention Rehabilitation and Development Project (The BIRD Project), and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Washington DC, Maryland and North Carolina. Kimberly is a graduate of Winston Salem State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work from Silberman of Social Work at Hunter College.
Kimberly brings over 10 years of experience working with diverse populations, ranging from youth to older adults. She is deeply committed to advocating for marginalized communities
and specializes in supporting individuals facing severe and persistent mental health challenges, youth transitioning from foster care, youth with emotional and learning disorders, justice-involved individuals, and those navigating life transitions. Her expertise includes stress management, trauma and PTSD therapy, LGBTQIA+ counseling, depression counseling, anger management, and more. Kimberly’s compassionate approach ensures tailored care for each individual's unique needs.
